Project Details

This project involved the construction of a new 120 room Hyatt Place Hotel located in Malta, New York. This hotel was the first Hyatt Place to be built in New York State and the country’s first Hyatt Place hotel built from the ground up. The hotel consists of five floors with primary occupancies consisting of meeting rooms, service areas, lobbies, an indoor pool with fitness rooms, guest rooms, terrace and deck space, patio space and a porte cochere for guest arrivals to the main lobby entrance. Total gross square footage is approximately 81,000 square feet. The hotel structure utilizes Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), steel, and precast concrete floor plank. The exterior façades consist of a combination of brick masonry, curtainwall, storefront, EIFS and cement board systems. At the South side of the building a large meeting room space containing an approximately 60-foot wide clear space is located at the ground floor level. Since the meeting space projects beyond the exterior face of the building a five story steel frame allows for a 60-foot clear span. The steel frame supports the roof, four floor levels, plus the first floor level roof above the meeting space. The project was completed in approximately 12 months at a constructed cost of about $8 million.
